Guide Booklet for FoV 1/16 Tiger I 007, "Michael Wittmann's Final Battle"

Following on from my successful collaboration with Unimax/Forces of Valor for the 1/16 scale “Villers-Bocage” Tiger I, the following year I would go through the same process for the next model in their “Extreme Metal” series – the Tiger in which Michael Wittmann would have his final battle near Cintheaux/Gaumesnil in Normandy on 8th August 1944.

Pleased that the association was not a one-off, I would again be happy for the manufacturer’s to use the text from the Panzer Ace site – this time concentrating on the events leading up to Wittmann’s death. A few months later I would receive another large box, which would contain a highly-detailed 1/16 scale model of Tiger number “007” – the command vehicle Wittmann had been assigned having taken over as battalion commander in July 1944.

Guide Booklet

There is just the one booklet with the “Final Battle” Tiger, containing the story of Michael Wittmann’s campaign in Normandy. The twenty-page A4 publication contains a short section on Villers-Bocage, as well as the narrative on his death less than two months later. The second section contains technical details on the Tiger I, which like the “222” model contains the detailed metal engine block.
